The Northgate neighborhood is identified by the mall with the same name. Additional shopping surrounds the mall and brings in throngs of shoppers from around the city. Northgate is comprised of a group of neighborhoods defined by Haller Lake, Pinehurst, Licton Springs and Maple Leaf (see map).
The Northwest Hospital and North Seattle Community College also bring thousands of people into area everyday. Fortunately, easy access to Interstate 5, Aurora Ave/Hwy 99, and the Sound/Metro’s Northgate Transit Center, makes Northgate a convenient place to travel in and out of. Residents have found this neighborhood to be a great choice for affordable living with an easy commute to most employers in the greater Seattle area.
Shopping isn’t the only entertainment in Northgate. Just east of the mall a long-awaited Community Center, Park and Library opened in 2006 and brings together residents of all ages for fun and learning. Tiny Haller Lake is tucked away in a corner just north of the hospital, but their Community Club and Arts Council reach out to all, hosting events and programs for the entire Northgate neighborhood.
Affordable housing, easy commuting, continued upgrades to the Northgate Mall and new development in the surrounding area are convincing more residents to move here each year. Come take a look, don’t let the bargins get away.
