Queen Anne

The Queen Anne neighborhood borders the campus of Seattle Pacific University and Fremont to the north, Magnolia and the Puget Sound/Elliott Bay on the west, Lake Union on the east, and downtown and Seattle Center to the south.

People around the world recognize Seattle by a photo of the Space Needle set against downtown skyscrapers with majestic Mount Rainier in the background. Those photos are often taken from the famous vantage point of Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill. Queen Anne is a neighborhood with sweeping vistas from most every park and home. With an elevation of more than 450 feet above the waters of Puget Sound, the west side of the hill has some of the most beautiful viewpoints in the city. The other sides of Queen Anne Hill have their own spectacular views as well; downtown, the Space Needle, Mt. Rainier, the Cascades, Lake Union, and the ship canal are each framed nicely in more than a few Queen Anne living room windows.

The grandest homes on the hill are in high demand and easily sell for well over $1 million, especially those in the vintage Queen Anne styling that gave the area it's name. Expensive and less expensive condos, townhouses, more modest homes and even apartments are also available to accomodate the demand for close-to-downtown living which Queen Anne satisfies so well.

With a population of more than 25,000 residents Queen Anne Hill is one of the city's more populated neighborhoods. Its residents enjoy easy access by bus, foot or cycle to just about everything: Downtown, Seattle Center, a movie theater, a library, many parks and trails, a farmer's market, and a community center and pool. And there's more! There are about 2,000 businesses in Queen Anne located mostly in Lower Queen Anne/Uptown and up on top of Queen Anne Ave. Dozens of wonderful restaurants, cafes and pubs, quaint boutiques and specialty supermarkets serve residents and visitors from all over the city. Quality public and private elementary and middle schools are on the hill and a specialty high school is housed at Seattle Center in lower Queen Anne.

With Seattle Center as one of their local parks, Queen Anne residents can enjoy the numerous sporting, theatre, dance and music events and museums at Seattle Center easily and also hop a quick ride on the monorail to the downtown shopping district - all without getting in a car! You can't visit Seattle without a stop in Queen Anne - perhaps you'll even find a room with a view of your own.
